Snapshot
Recording holder state at a specific date — used later to distribute a drop.
Snapshot is a recording of holder state at a specific block. Projects use this to determine who gets the airdrop.
Logic
1. Project announces: "snapshot at April 15, block 18,500,000."
2. At that block, anyone matching the condition (e.g. ≥0.1 ETH balance) is included.
3. After N days/weeks → airdrop to the list.
Trick: snapshots are often unannounced
Many top drops (Arbitrum, Optimism) used secret snapshots — fixed activity from past periods without warning. So nobody could pre-farm.
This is why consistent activity > one-time burst.
How to catch
Don't try to time it. Just hold interesting tokens / do activity in potential projects. If you're in the list — lucky.
